Covering the operational costs for two First Reception Mobile Units

Project Promoter: Reception and Identification Service

Expected outcome: Strengthened institutional framework to ensure legal protection and care for the most vulnerable group of migrants, namely unaccompanied children.

The project will cover the running costs of the two Mobile Units A and B of The Reception and Identification Service. Currently they are deployed in Samos and Lesvos islands.

The pre-defined project will include the following activities:

  • Providing immediate assistance to third country nationals after their irregular entry to Greece,
  • performing medical controls,
  • identifying vulnerable groups,
  • referring all persons to competent authorities according to their status (asylum applicant/returnee) and their status as belonging to a vulnerable group or not.
